St John Volunteer of the month!
Our volunteers are a huge part of our workforce and an incredible group of dedicated people who volunteer their personal time and energy to help deliver our services – often alongside a full-time job.
It’s important we recognise this significant commitment on an everyday basis which is why we’ve been developing a number of new volunteer reward and recognition initiatives, including a special award – Volunteer of the month. How do I make my nomination? Anyone at St John can nominate a volunteer for the award.
They just need to complete the form on the Hub Volunteering – Reward and Recognition page. The monthly nominations will be reviewed and selected by Clinical Operations Director Norma Lane and Director of Community Health Services Sarah Manley.
What’s the Award criteria? A nominee has to be an active volunteer and demonstrated behaviour that’s ‘above and beyond’ expectations, and aligned to our Values (full details on the Hub Volunteering page).
How do we reward and recognise Volunteer of the month? Award recipients receive a personalised letter from the two Directors and a $100.00 gift card, so they can choose a reward that’s meaningful to them or something special for their partner or family, or maybe a morning tea for the team! The twelve recipients chosen each year are also eligible to win a mystery weekend away (with a person of their choice) to the value of $2,000.00! This includes flights, accommodation and spending money. The CEO will select this winner.
Recipients of the monthly awards and mystery weekend will feature on the Hub and in Side by side – Volunteer news (our bi-monthly newsletter).
Vote now! We look forward to receiving your nominations for April – send them to email@example.com. This month’s nominations close 21 April 2016.'
